The sensor converts all this data into electrical signals. This difference is used to track the motion of an object.This will create a negative difference between the two slots. Similarly, when an object exits the vicinity of the sensor, the second slot will detect it and the first slot will not.This will create a positive difference between the two slots. But when an object enters the vicinity of the sensor, the first slot will detect it but the second slot will not. In equilibrium conditions, both the slots will detect the same amount of radiation.Both slots contain infrared sensing material. But the inside working of the sensor is quite complex. The working of the PIR sensor might seem simple on the surface.These radiations are measured and converted into electrical signals by the PIR sensor. Every object with a temperature above absolute zero emits infrared radiation. This infrared radiation is not visible to the human eye as infrared is outside the visible spectrum of the human eye. It just absorbs the radiation emitted by other objects. The term 'Passive' is used because this sensor does not emit any infrared light. The base shield will therefore have to be placed on an Arduino Uno to get started with the kit. The sensor kit contains a base shield that does not have a microcontroller. However, an Arduino Uno is required to program this kit. With the help of the included Grove cables, the sensors and modules can still be connected to the microcontroller. Of course, the connections to the microcontroller will be broken. It is also possible to detach the separate modules and the base shield from the entire board.

For each sensor it is indicated with which pin the sensor is connected to the microcontroller, making it easy to take over in the Arduino programming environment. The sensors are connected to the shield via the PCB, eliminating the need for cabling. This kit features a base shield, surrounded by 10 different sensors.
